The story of God’s people is a story of sin, setback, and failure. When you read the Old Testament, there isn’t a whole lot to brag about. But through this line came the answer to all these problems! In fact, the answer to ALL our problems. With great mercy, God became a man and redeemed His people.
But some people don’t grasp this fact of how unrighteous Israel was. Don Bradley has a little reel talking about how things were taken out of the Bible because God wanted to “hide them away” for a righteous people.
But wait, if they were in the Bible to begin with, who were the righteous people who originally had them?
Israel was not righteous. We are not righteous today. Even members of the LDS church, who claim to now have all the missing pieces, are not any more righteous than ancient Israel. So something with Don Bradley’s claim isn’t lining up.
God does not “lock away” his “hidden mysteries” for a righteous people. If he did that, nobody would ever get them. Esoteric knowledge is not God’s way. That is what secret societies and cults do.
And God doesn’t save his truths for righteous people. When he came to the Jews in the year 33 A.D., they were as wicked as ever! These are the people who would crucify Him, the perfect, blameless lamb. And yet He taught them and fed them eternal truths.
We are all lost sinners.
We are only righteous through the blood of get lamb. By His stripes we are healed. He is the only one worthy! And wearing His righteousness is the only way to be found clean at the bar of God.
