All I Possess

Leaving behind false traditions in search of the true Jesus

Sacrament is for Sinners

It is a heresy in the LDS church to say you need to be free from sin (and addiction) before you can be saved or take sacrament/communion.

Romans 5:8 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 7:15 “I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate

1 John 1:8–10 “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in usIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us…”

Ecclesiastes 7:20 “Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.”

James 3:2 “For we all stumble in many ways…

We are all sinners. There is no one worthy.

The only thing that can make you “worthy” to be baptized or have communion is to believe in Jesus and accept the grace he offers you.

It is a heresy to say your works have made you worthy. No sabbath observance, no food law will make you worthy. It is wrong for a man to judge you as worthy because you do these things (Colossians 2:16)

It is a heresy to say that only those free from addiction can receive baptism!

This was one of the first things that struck me and gnawed at me about the LDS church. Early on in my son’s mission, he wrote home that they had an investigator who couldn’t be baptized because of a “word of wisdom issue.” God spoke to me in that moment and convicted me that something was wrong there!!

At Corner Canyon church, every week Pastor Nate reminds us that we are not worthy to take communion. It is only Jesus’s worthiness that qualifies us. Communion is so much more powerful when we are taught correct doctrine as we partake!

Praise Jesus for His holiness that he credits to our account 💕 Only through Him am I found acceptable in the presence of God.
