All I Possess

Leaving behind false traditions in search of the true Jesus

If the Highest Place I Reached was at Your Feet

“If the highest place I reached is at your feet, then I’ve done it all.”

This is a photo of a new song being sung at The Well, when something really struck me about this line!

I’ve never seen people so excited and enthusiastic about “only” getting to God’s feet, and praising Him like I’ve never known.

I know a thousand people who expect to become equals with God, but they never get excited about it at all!

Wow, what a difference!

I spent a few decades of my life looking down on people who were “only” going to get the basic heaven, who were satisfied with playing harps and shining God’s shoes. No progression. How boring!

MY heaven was so much better than that!

And yet I never jumped for joy or shouted praises to God.

I didn’t really know Him.

I was too consumed with my own righteousness, my worthiness, my prestige.

The basic message of Christianity has 2 simple principles: (1) We are very broken. We will never be worthy. We are totally deprived. (2) Jesus gave us His righteousness! He forgives us and we can be counted worthy through His merits, through no work of our own!

Those in the LDS church don’t understand either of these steps.

But once you grasp it, the third step comes naturally — WORSHIP GOD!! Be amazed and astounded! Sit at His feet in ecstasy!

Yes, that is Heaven!! Eternal wonder and amazement that we sinners get to have a personal relationship and be with the only Holy and Perfect Being!

Amazing grace!
