Mormons believe that Jesus was an “apprentice” God, acting as the Father’s assistant (as two separate individuals) to create this globe specifically.
Well, there could be some differences in thought as far as if He created other planets under the direction of the Father….
But He definitely didn’t create Heaven itself!
Because, you know, He was spiritually born there. He began there the same way we did. Supposedly.
You can’t create the place you originated in.
But wait! The Book of Mormon disagrees with the prevailing LDS notion:
King Benjamin calls him “the Father of Heaven and Earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning.” (Mosiah 3:8).
Interesting. I don’t know a single Mormon who would call Jesus the “Father of Heaven.”
Alma 11:38 also calls Jesus “the very Eternal Father of Heaven and of earth.”
Now, of course Mormons will say He is the Father of Earth because Earth is the Son’s stewardship.
But of Heaven? That just makes zero sense with the LDS doctrine of Jesus being our brother, with the same origin we have.
So, I give you Mormons the question: What did Jesus create?
“All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:3)
All things.
“Everything was created by him, in heaven and in earth, the visible and the invisible.” (Colossians 1:16)
Everything.
It’s not complicated.
The Christians were right.
Because He didn’t have an origin. He is not an apprentice. He isn’t a son of God—He is God!
