If there was a simple symbol you could wear that would identify you as a Christian, indicating Christ’s atonement for you, would you want to wear it?
Why ever not?

I can’t help wondering if the reason Mormons don’t wear a cross is because it’s powerful. It would be antithetical to the church’s true purpose. It would cast their demons out.
They say it’s because “We focus on the resurrection, not the death,” but where is the symbol of the resurrection?
(I saw The Shift movie put one out, but for a shockingly exorbitant price….)
Then they’ll quote Gordon Hinckley and say “It’s in the lives of our members.”
I just feel like we are dancing around the topic here.

But the truth is, Mormons have nothing against religious symbols.
They do wear religious symbols—every day and night.
But theirs are hiding underneath their clothes.
But you know what’s missing?
The one that means Jesus died for me.
You’ve got 2 Masonic symbols that have nothing to do with Christianity, then you’ve got the one that was originally meant as a reminder to the wearer that they made a blood oath, and their entrails would be cut and spilt out if they told anyone the special secrets.
and lastly, we finally get to a Christian symbol, based on Philippeans 2:10-11. A beautiful verse I enjoy singing in worship music (but again, it’s a slit symbol, and slits go back to Brigham’s blood oaths…..)

Anyway, one day I decided that I want the symbols of my faith to show. I wanted to trade in the secret symbols for one I could wear openly.
To declare that I am a Christian!
To be different amongst the Mormons.
No secrets necessary.
(Which is funny because these “secrets” are handed out openly at Masonic lodges all over the world. I mean, if you want to get all prepped with your special handshakes to get into heaven, just go to a Masonic lodge and you won’t have to pay a tenth of your income or avoid coffee. You don’t even have to repent of sin or believe in Jesus! So I guess heaven is free for everyone!🙄)
